How to change the default zoom level and/or font size in Chrome

A while back I explained in this post how to quickly change the text size in your browser using your mouse wheel and the Ctrl key on your keyboard.

In a nutshell, that procedure changes the text size by altering the browser’s “zoom” level, which also changes the size of the images, text boxes and any other elements that are displayed on the page.

I close the wrong tab ALL THE TIME, and I’d really like to know how to open it back up!

Question from Helen:  Several times a day my web browser will pop up a little box on my computer telling me the website I’m visiting wants to show notifications.

I always answer no because I don’t want to receive notifications from ANY website.

It makes no difference whether I’m using Chrome of Firefox. It happens with both of them.

Is there a way to prevent those browsers from asking me if I want to receive notifications from ANY site?
