RollerMouse Red Review: Contour Rollermouse Red

Sit at a keyboard eight hours a day and something eventually starts to hurt. Maybe it’s the shoulder that stays cocked out to the side to reach the mouse. Maybe it’s a wrist that bends at an angle no physical therapist would ever recommend.

RollerMouse Red is built around a simple idea: move the pointing device from the side of the keyboard to directly in front of it and a lot of that daily strain just stops happening.

It’s made by Contour Design, a company that builds ergonomic input devices including the RollerMouse, UniMouse, SliderMouse and Balance Keyboard lines. RollerMouse Red is one entry in that lineup and it earned a Red Dot Design Award, a recognition given for product design across industries.

Review: Klein Tools ET310 AC Circuit Breaker Finder

If you have ever needed to find the circuit breaker that controls a certain electrical outlet you know how difficult the task of finding the right breaker can be.

It usually involves plugging a lamp into the outlet and then switching off all the breakers, one by one, until the lamp goes out.

If you don’t have a partner watching the lamp, that means you have to switch off each breaker and then make a trip to the outlet to check the status of the lamp. If the lamp is still on, you still haven’t found the right breaker.

What’s worse, after you have finally found the right breaker you discover that you have flashing clocks and powered-off appliances all over the house. [Read more…]

I’ve been using DC to AC power inverters for various purposes for a very long time, and I’ve used a bunch of them. Some were great, some were awful and plenty were somewhere in between.

I recently set out to build another DIY portable power station so I needed a good 12V DC to 120V AC inverter.
