RicksDailyTips Weekly Newsletter for Mar 26, 2016 – My favorite Google Chrome extensions

Posted on March 26, 2016

newsletterHello again everyone. I hope you all had a great week!

I spend a good portion of each work day researching information for blog posts and answers to reader questions on the Internet, so I’m very picky about my web browsers and the extensions I use with them.

I actually use several different browsers to accomplish different tasks throughout the day, but my “work-horse” browser is Google Chrome. It just seems that Chrome gives me the best user experience, and it’s fast!

But as much as I love Chrome, there are a few browser extensions that make it even better. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about them.  [Read more…]

How to log in to multiple accounts on the same website with Google Chrome

Posted on June 6, 2015

multi-account-login-logoA few months ago a reader asked me how to log into multiple Yahoo email accounts at the same time, and I answered that question in this post. In a nutshell, I advised her to use a different browser for each account.

Well, it turns out that there’s an even easier way if you use the Google Chrome web browser. An excellent Chrome extension called Multi-Account Login lets you easily log in to multiple online accounts on the same website by using nothing more than a single instance of your Chrome browser.

facebook-undo-logoHave you ever published a status update, a photo, or a link on Facebook only to immediately have second thoughts about it?

If so, you probably deleted the post as quickly as possible, hoping that you got rid of it before any of your friends had a chance to see it.

Truth be told, most of us have published an embarrassing post at one time or another. It happens.

Luckily, if you use Google Chrome you can give yourself a brief moment of reflection after clicking the “Post” button before the post actually goes live, and change your mind if you end up thinking better of it.  [Read more…]

Google releases 64 bit version of the Chrome web browser

Posted on August 28, 2014

chrome-os-logoGoogle has finally released a 64 bit version of their popular Chrome web browser, and after putting it through its paces it appears to be a lot faster and more stable than the 32 bit version that we’ve all been using for so long.

Let me tell you, this is one fast browser!

There are other enhancements in the new version as well, one of my favorites being much crisper text on high-DPI monitors. But the increases in speed and stability are by far the most important of all the enhancements.  [Read more…]
