Posted on August 16, 2014

facebook-messenger-app-logoQuestion from Pat M.:  Rick, is there a way to delete Facebook Messenger from my iPad?

Rick’s answer:  There sure is Pat. Lots of folks are ditching the official Facebook Messenger app and switching to third party messaging apps instead.

My preferred method of completely eradicating the Facebook Messenger app from an iOS device is below. Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Q&A: How can I see a list of all my Tumblr posts at once?

Posted on August 15, 2014

tumblr-logo-2Question from Jon W.:  I have a Tumbler blog with several hundred posts on it. My old theme had an “Archive” link that I could click to see a list of my posts. I recently switched to a new theme that doesn’t have that link.

My question is can you tell me how to see all of my Tumblr posts without having to give up my awesome new theme? Thanks in advance.

Q&A: How do I log my ex-boyfriend out of my Netflix account?

Posted on August 15, 2014

netflix-logoQuestion from Dianne J.:  Hi Rick. I hope you can help me with a problem I have with my ex-boyfriend. We split up a couple of days ago and he’s still using my Netflix account.

I changed the password, but it appears that he’s still logged in and watching stuff. How can I log him out of my Netflix account for good?

Q&A: Is it normal for Netflix to use almost all of my Internet download bandwidth?

Posted on August 13, 2014

netflix-logoQuestion from Heather E.:  Hi Rick. I hope you can help me out with the answer to a question that’s been bugging me for a while.

The download speed for my Internet connection is supposed to be 30 Mbps. When I check it with Speedtest.net like you suggested in one of your previous posts, it almost always says it’s running around 28 Mbps. I can live with that.

But when my boyfriend is watching a movie on Netflix (he does it every night), Speedtest.net says I’m only getting around 6 Mbps. Is this normal? I know that Netflix uses a lot of bandwidth, but that seems excessive to me.

Q&A: Why can’t Internet Explorer load websites after viruses were removed?

Posted on July 29, 2014

ieQuestion from Annika T.:  During the last virus scan Norton found a couple of viruses and removed them. Now Internet Explorer won’t load any websites. All I get is a blank screen and a message saying the site might be down or something.

I know it’s not my Internet connection because Firefox still loads pages just fine. I really need to get IE back working again because I use it and Firefox together to use two Gmail accounts at the same time. Can you help me?

If it matters, my computer is running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.
