Q&A: Can I disable the ‘Caps Lock’ key on my Mac?

Posted on July 26, 2022

Question from Betty:  Thanks for everything you do to help us, Rick. Your tips are wonderful.

If you don’t mind I’d like to ask a question about my iMac.

I’m always hitting the ‘Caps Lock’ key by accident and typing things in all upper case.

I read this tip that explains how to disable the Caps Lock key on a Windows computer.

I recently found out that Apple started putting different processors in their machines around that same time and that some programs won’t work with the new processors.

How can I find out whether my MacBook has the older processor or the new one?  [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I find out how much RAM is in my Mac?

Posted on May 21, 2022

Question from Randy:  I have a two year old Mac desktop computer that runs great, but I heard Macs run a LOT faster if they have at least 16GB of RAM installed.

I’d love to upgrade mine to 16GB if it currently has less than that in it.

The thing is I have no idea how much RAM is in it right now. How can I find out?  [Read more…]
