How to take a screenshot of an entire web page without scrolling

Posted on April 30, 2021

Have you ever needed to create a screenshot of an entire web page, but the page was too long and/or wide to fit in the browser window?

If so, you probably had to “capture” the current contents of the screen, scroll to display more of the page, “capture” that part of the page to a different image file.

Then you had to repeat the process until you had a series of photos depicting every part of the web page.

Well, if you use Google’s Chrome browser, there’s an easy way to take a screenshot of an entire web page without having to scroll or capture multiple images.

Q&A: How can I uninstall Firefox from my computer?

Posted on February 22, 2021

Question from Perry S.:  I have an older Dell desktop PC that I updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

I really like this computer and I use it every day to check my email and other various tasks.

I got a low disk space warning the other day so I ran Disk Cleanup and then tried to uninstall several programs that I never use.

Everything uninstalled just fine until I got to Firefox. The Windows Uninstaller tool won’t remove it, and neither will Revo Uninstaller.

Do you know of a way to remove Firefox from this machine? Perhaps a manual method that I could try?

Do you write a blog that’s still serving its pages to your visitors’ web browsers in a non-secure (i.e. unencrypted) state?

If you’re not sure, it’s very easy to find out. Simply visit your blog with any web browser and look that the URL in the address bar.

If the URL starts with http:// instead of https:// that means your blog is not being served to your visitors’ browsers in encrypted format.

If that turns out to be the case, your blog’s traffic is likely to drop to pretty close to zero after Mozilla releases the Firefox 70 update in October.

Posted on December 2, 2015

diable-tooltips-logoQuestion from Elise:  I hate it when I’m trying to type a comment or status update on Facebook and a tooltip pops up and won’t let me see what I’m typing.

I use Facebook with both Chrome and Firefox and the problem shows up in both of them. Is there any way to disable the annoying tooltips in those browsers?

Great news: Firefox is now available for iPhone and iPad

Posted on November 18, 2015

firefox-app-logoMozilla’s Firefox has long been one of the most popular web browsers out there for desktop and laptop users, and Android users have been able to download a fantastic Firefox app from the Google Play Store for some time now.

Many Apple iOS users have been clamoring for a Firefox app for their iPhones and iPads, but for whatever reason Mozilla never got around to placing one in the iTunes store.

Well, that has finally changed. Mozilla released Firefox for iOS a few days ago, and I really like it.  [Read more…]
