Q&A: What’s the best gaming router for multiple devices and a Gigabit Internet connection?

netgear-nighthawk-x8-router Question from Sean P.: I have a twin brother and our birthday is coming up soon. Our grandfather has agreed to buy us a new router and we can pick the one we want.

What we’re looking for is the best (fastest) router to connect our gaming PCs and Xbox to the Internet (and to one another). Our family also has several TVs, phones and tablets that we use a lot. We do a lot of streaming on Netflix and Hulu too.

We have a Verizon FiOS Gigabit Internet connection and we’d like to be able to use all of the available bandwidth. Can you recommend a router that will work best for us?

Q&A: What happened to the Three Finger Drag in OSX El Capitan?

Question from Ted M.: I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro from OSX Yosemite to El Capitan and now I can’t find the Three Finger Drag option in System Preferences.

Has Apple done away with the Three Finger Drag gesture in El Capitan, or is this a bug? I really miss it.

Q&A: Why can’t I search for a word in Chrome by tapping it like I used to?

Question from Carl: Hi Rick. I hope you can help me with something that’s driving me nuts because I can’t figure it out.

My wife and I both use Chrome as the default browser on our phones. It used to have a really handy feature where we could search for a word on a web page just by tapping on it.

Now something has happened and that doesn’t work anymore. Do you know if there’s anything we can try to get it to work again? We really miss it!

Q&A: Why does the touch screen on my iPhone 6 Plus stop working at random times?

Question from Gracie: The touch screen on my iPhone 6 Plus has started freezing up on me at random times.

There doesn’t seem to be any kind of pattern as to when the issue arises. The screen just stops responding to taps and swipes on occasion. It will usually start working again after a few minutes if I just leave it alone and don’t touch it.

This is really irritating because I can’t even answer a call if it comes in when the screen is froze. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Q&A: Can I disable the tooltips that pop up and cover the text boxes when I’m trying to type on Facebook?

Question from Elise: I hate it when I’m trying to type a comment or status update on Facebook and a tooltip pops up and won’t let me see what I’m typing.

I use Facebook with both Chrome and Firefox and the problem shows up in both of them. Is there any way to disable the annoying tooltips in those browsers?
