How to remove Copilot from the Windows Taskbar

If you have installed the latest Windows Updates you’ve probably noticed a new icon on your Taskbar labeled Copilot (preview).

According to Microsoft, Copilot is a new tool that adds artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to Office 365, the Bing search engine and even Windows itself.

This is how I prefer to open ‘File Explorer’

The Windows Desktop in every version of Microsoft Windows since Windows 95 has included a “My Computer” icon which opened the handy “Windows Explorer” window when you clicked on it.

All recent versions of Windows till have the “My Computer” icon, but it’s now called “This PC”. And “Windows Explorer” is now called “File Explorer”.

But even though their names have changed, these features still work in much the same way they always have, and they are still two of the most-used components of Windows.  [Read more…]

Create a Desktop shortcut to open a Command Prompt window

In a nutshell, a Command Prompt window allows you to run extremely useful “DOS” style commands by typing them directly into the system to bypass the limitations imposed by Windows’ graphical user interface.

There are several ways to open a Command Prompt window, and I always explain how to open one when a tip requires it.
