Bing to start giving “Mobile Friendly” sites higher priority in their search results

Posted on May 18, 2015

bing-logoBack in February Google announced plans to start giving “mobile friendly” web pages higher prirority in their mobile search results.

That makes plenty of sense to me. After all, if I’m searching for info while using my smart phone, I would prefer that Google recommend pages that are optimized for my phone’s small screen.

Well, now Bing is getting ready to jump onto the “mobile friendly” bandwagon. Microsoft has just announced that they will be rolling out changes similar to those made by Google within the next few months.  [Read more…]

Use Google to quickly locate your lost or stolen Android phone

Posted on April 18, 2015

google-logoI wrote a post a while back that explains how to use a great service called Where’s My Cell Phone to ring your lost phone so you can track it down by the ringing sound when you don’t have another phone to call it with.

That service works quite well, but for it to be useful you have to know the general location where you lost the phone (i.e. somewhere inside your home or office). It won’t do you much good if your phone was stolen or lost in a distant place and you have no clue where to go to look for it.

scamWell, the group of Russian hackers who have hacked into so many major websites and user accounts recently have struck again. This time the victim is Google and their users.

Around 5 million Google usernames and passwords have actually been posted online, and it’s likely that many times that amount were actually stolen.  [Read more…]

google-plus-logoHave you been wanting to sign up for a Google+ account, but you’re apprehensive about having to use your real name on your profile? Well now you don’t have to.
