Q&A: Will ‘Email Paramedic’ really keep emails out of Gmail’s Promotions tab?

Posted on September 8, 2023

Question from Reece:  I’ve been sending out a weekly newsletter for almost three years.

I recently found out that lots of my Gmail subscribers are having my emails go into their Promotions folder instead of their Inboxes.

I did some Google searches to see if I could find out why this is happening and how I can fix it.

One of the sites that came up was for something called Email Paramedic. I was wondering if you’ve heard of Email Paramedic and if it actually works? [Read more…]

How to save Gmail attachments to your Google Drive storage

Posted on August 27, 2022

Do you often receive photos and other files that were sent to you as attachments to Gmail messages?

If so, it might be a good idea to save a copy of the important attachments in order to prevent losing them if those emails ever get deleted or lost.  [Read more…]

Q&A: I lost my phone. Can I remotely sign out of Gmail using a different device?

Posted on June 17, 2021

Question from Carrie:  I went to Costco this morning and when I got home my phone wasn’t in my purse.

I checked both my car and my apartment from one end to other and it just isn’t here.

Then I called Costco to see if anyone had found it and turned it in at the Service Desk, but they hadn’t.

I didn’t go anywhere else, just to Costco so that has to be where I lost it.

I’m not too concerned about the phone itself. It’s an older Straight Talk phone that I was planning to replace soon anyway.

The thing that worries me is my Gmail was open (I keep it that way, stupid me). I have a lot of sensitive info and photos in my emails that I really don’t want anyone else to see.

Is there a way to use my computer to remotely sign out of Gmail on the lost phone?

If you use Gmail as your email provider you probably realize how important it is to prevent hackers from accessing your Gmail account.

Once a hacker is logged into your Gmail account he/she can use it to send SPAM and/or malware to other people in your name, via your account. Not good!

What you might not realize is hackers don’t really need to log into your Gmail account directly in order to use it to send SPAM and malware to other people!

Q&A: How do I stop my Gmail messages from being forwarded to my ex’s email account?

Posted on August 27, 2018

gmailQuestion from Cindy T.:  I just found out that my ex is somehow causing all of my Gmail messages to be forwarded to his own email account.

I know he had the password to my account for a while because I let him use it when he was looking for a job (the lazy bum never did find one). I guess that’s when he set up the forwarding.

Anyway, how can I stop my emails from being forwarded to his account?

Rick’s answer:  Cindy, what you’ll need to do is log into your Gmail account and disable “Forwarding” in your account settings. Here’s how:  [Read more…]
