Yahoo is pulling the plug on Yahoo Messenger

Posted on June 11, 2018

Back in the “Stone Age” of the Internet (i.e. before Facebook came along) Yahoo Messenger and AOL Messenger were used on a daily basis by millions of users to keep in touch with friends and family.

Well, times have changed…

AOL Messenger was shut down last year, leaving only Yahoo Messenger to compete with Facebook’s hugely popular Messenger app.

As of today that competition is officially over because Yahoo has just announced they’ll shutting down the entire Yahoo Messenger platform on July 17, 2018.  [Read more…]

Q&A: How do I edit Image Size in pixels instead of inches with Adobe Photoshop Elements?

Posted on June 8, 2018

Question from Melinda Q.:  I recently bought a new laptop because my old one died on me.

I installed Photoshop Elements on the new laptop from the same installation disc that I used to install it on the old one.

It seems to be working fine except for one thing: It won’t let me resize images in pixels. The only thing I can change is the document size (in inches).

On my old laptop I could change the image size in pixes but on the new one I don’t have that option. What am I doing wrong?

1 – Do you have a self-hosted WordPress blog that receives a lot of visitors from Google every month?

2 – Do you earn money with that blog?

If the answer to one or both of those questions is yes then you need to make sure your blog is secured with SSL (https) encryption asap!

If your blog doesn’t have any sign-up forms or request sensitive information from your visitors you might be thinking it doesn’t need to be a “secure” site.

Well, that used to be the case, but no longer.  [Read more…]

Q&A: Is my old Samsung Galaxy S II worth fixing?

Posted on June 2, 2018

samsung-galaxy-s-iiQuestion from Rhonda K.:  Hi Rick. I have an really ancient Samsung Galaxy S II that I really love. It still works great except the Micro-USB port seems to be worn out.

The phone won’t charge with my car charger unless I hold the connector in a certain position. Can this be fixed pretty cheap or do I need to just replace the phone. I’m hoping your answer is that it can be fixed because I absolutely love this phone!!

By the way, this is an awesome site! I’ve learned so much from you!
