Is your iPhone running out of memory? Here’s a quick tip that can help.

Posted on June 17, 2020

If you’re an iPhone user you probably know that keeping as much of your phone’s memory free as possible will help it run faster and also prevent glitches and freeze-ups.

However, you might not be aware that old iMessages that contain images and other attachments can use up a huge portion of your phone’s available memory.

Luckily, it’s very easy to free up lots of memory space once per month simply by instructing your phone to automatically delete your older iMessages on a monthly basis. All it takes is a simple settings change:  [Read more…]

Q&A: Is it possible to hide a hard drive in Windows 10?

Posted on June 17, 2020

Question from Leta W.:  I have an external USB hard drive that I use to back up all of my important files. I keep this drive plugged into the back of my PC, and it’s hidden from view.

My question is can I hide that drive from showing up in File Explorer?

My daughter uses this computer too, and I want to make sure she doesn’t wipe out any of my saved files on the external drive. This computer is running Windows 10.

Q&A: Can I get a closed Facebook account reinstated without sending them my ID?

Posted on June 16, 2020

Question from Catherine:  I have a big problem Rick. I clicked a link in a Facebook post and it must have infected my account with a virus because it immediately started sending out SPAM messages.

To be exact, the virus sent a spam message to everyone on my friends list. When I found out about it I changed my password, and everything seemed to be ok.

A few days later, I got married and changed my name on Facebook to my new last name. The next day Facebook deactivated my account.

Now Facebook wants to see a copy of my ID before they’ll reinstate my account.

The thing is I REALLY don’t want to give my drivers license out, especially since I’m not even positive that the message requesting to see it was even sent from Facebook.

Is there some way to get my Facebook account reinstated with just my cell phone number? Thanks.

If you have Windows 10 on your computer, you might have noticed that the Start Button and Start Menu are back after taking a short hiatus with Windows 8.

One important thing that’s missing on the Windows 10 Start Menu however is a menu option for opening a “Run” box.

Well, there’s actually a way to open a “Run” box from the Start menu but it’s buried two levels deep in the “Windows System” section, and that makes opening a simple Run box more time-consuming than it should be.

Of course you can always quickly open a Run box by pressing the Windows+R key combination (that’s the way I always do it), but some folks prefer having it right on the Start Menu.

If you’re one of them, you can easily add a “Run” tile to the Start Menu on your Windows 10 PC. Here’s how: [Read more…]
