Today’s quick tech tip….

How to force a Mac application to automatically launch at boot-up

Do you have a favorite application that you use every time you use your Mac?

If so, you can force the machine to automatically launch that app every time the machine finishes booting up to the Desktop, which can be a real time-saver.

Here’s how to add an app to your Mac’s Login Items (aka auto-startup list):

1 – Click the Apple icon on the top menu bar, then select System Preferences from the drop-down menu.

2 – Click Users & Groups.

3 – Click Login Items.

(Note: At this point you might need to click the padlock icon and enter the Admin password.)

4 – Click the plus (+) sign and select the app (or apps) you want to add to the Login Items list.

5 – Click Add.

That’s all there is to it. From now on the app(s) you added to the auto-startup list will launch automatically every time you boot up your Mac.

Need to give an older laptop or desktop PC a huge shot of adrenaline? If so, this is one of the cheapest, yet most effective upgrades you can make.
