Today’s quick tech tip….

How to disable Windows 10’s “Lets finish setting up your device” post-update screen

Do the “Lets finish setting up your device” screens you see after Windows 10 installs updates annoy you as much as they annoy me?

I already have my Windows settings configured the way I want them and I don’t need to be prodded to change them every time my PC finishes installing updates.

If you feel the same way, a simple Windows 10 Settings change will prevent that screen from popping up in the future. Just follow the steps below:

1 – Right-click the Start button, then select Settings from the menu.

2 – Click System.

3 – In the left-hand column, click Notifications & actions.

4 – In the right-hand column, uncheck the box beside “Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows”.

5 – (Optional) – While you’re there you can also uncheck the other boxes in that section for a much cleaner, less-hassle Windows experience.

That’s all there is to it. You shouldn’t be seeing any more of those irritating “Lets finish setting up your device” post-update screens.

Rick’s Daily Pick…

MinisForum EliteMini HX90 Mini Desktop PC (#ad)

Are you intrigued by the growing universe of mini PC’s but you’re concerned about the possibility of anemic performance? Well look no further than this little gem.

The folks at MinisForum have managed to pack all the power and speed of a full-size mid-range desktop PC into a case that’s about the size of a typical hardback book.

I was expecting this machine to heat up a bit due to all the components being squeezed into such a small case, but I was pleasantly surprised by how cool it stays even when operating under a relatively heavy load.

What’s more, it has ample RAM and SSD storage with plenty of capacity for adding more.

And oh yeah…it’s fast!
