Today’s quick tech tip….

Left-handed? You can swap the mouse buttons on your Mac.

As with most other computers, you can both left-click and right-click with your Mac’s mouse.

Most actions are performed by clicking the left button, with selected optional tasks completed by clicking the right one.

In other words, the left button is the “primary” button.

However, if you happen to be left-handed it might make sense to switch the functions of the buttons and make the right button the “primary” button. Just follow the steps below if you’d like to give that change a try:

1 – Click the Apple icon on the menu at the top of the screen and select System Preferences from the menu.

2 – Click Mouse.

3 – Look through the “Mouse Options” for the setting you’ll use to switch the function of the buttons. The option you see will vary depending on the version of macOS that’s currently running on your Mac.

4 – Change either the Secondary Click or Primary Button setting (depending on which one you see) to swap the functions of the two mouse buttons.

That’s it – you’re done.
