How to create a Desktop shortcut to the Device Manager on Windows
Many of the tips I share involve the use of Windows’ handy Device Manager tool.
There are several easy ways to launch the Device Manager, but my friend Steve K. thought it might be a good idea to explain how to create a shortcut for launching it directly from the Desktop. So here you go…
1 – Right-click on a blank section of the Desktop and select New>Shortcut from the context menu.
2 – Paste the following into the “Location” field”:
devmgmt.msc
3 – Click Next.
4 – Type Device Manager into the “Name” field, then click Finish.
That’s all there is to it. You now have a handy Desktop shortcut that will immediately launch the Device Manager without having to navigate any menus or doing any type of search.

Don’t you hate it when your PC goes to sleep right in the middle of an important project?
Plug this little gem into an empty USB port and you won’t have to worry about the machine deciding to take a nap at the worst possible time. And you won’t have to disable Sleep mode either.
This device simulates very tiny mouse movements that keep the PC from drifting off to sleep. When you’re all done with your project simply unplug the jiggler and everything will be back to normal.
