Today’s featured tech tip….

This MacBook setting can help your arthritic fingers

If you have arthritic fingers you probably have difficulty ‘clicking’ your laptop’s trackpad, but luckily there’s a handy setting than can help (a lot).

It’s called ‘Tap to Click’ and it works by letting you simply tap the trackpad instead of having to forcibly press down on it in order to ‘click’ it.

This feature has been enabled by default on Windows machines for years (you Windows users give it a try if you’ve never used it), but for whatever reason it’s turned off by default on MacBooks.

If you’d like to give ‘Tap to Click’ a try you can easily enable it on your MacBook by following the steps below:

1 – Click the Apple icon on the the top menu bar.

2 – Click System Preferences.

3 – Click Trackpad.

4 – Select the Point & Click tab.

5 – Check the box beside ‘Tap to click’ to enable the setting (just click the box and a checkmark will appear inside it).

That’s all there is to it. Now you can give your arthritic fingers a break by just tapping your MacBook’s trackpad instead of pressing down to ‘click’ it.
