How to ‘zip’ the contents of a folder on a Windows PC

If you’ve ever needed to send multiple files to someone via email you probably noticed how much of a pain it can be to send attach them all, one-by-one.

Well, here’s a little tip that can make emailing multiple files to someone a lot faster and easier. All you have to do is copy those files into a folder, and then ‘zip’ (i.e. compress) that folder.

You can then attach that one ‘zip’ file to your email and send it on its merry way.

Luckily, zipping (i.e. compressing) a folder and its contents is quite easy on Windows PC. Just follow the steps below for your Windows version.

Windows 10:

1 – Create a new folder and copy all the files you want to include in the zipped archive into it.

2 – Right-click on that folder and select Send to>Compressed (zipped) folder from the menu.

Windows 11:

1 – Create a new folder and copy all the files you want to include in the zipped archive into it.

2 – Right-click on that folder and select Show more options from the menu.

3 – Click  Send to>Compressed (zipped) folder.

That’s all there is to it. You now have a zipped folder containing all of the selected files.

Just attach that one zipped folder to your email and click the Send button.
