Today’s quick tech tip….

How to quickly create a Desktop shortcut for a web page

Do you have one or more favorite web pages that you visit on a regular basis?

If so, you can easily (and quickly) create a Desktop shortcut that will automatically launch your default web browser with that page already open in it.

Note: If your default browser is already open, clicking the shortcut will open a new tab containing the page.

It only takes a quick click and drag with the mouse to create these super-handy shortcuts.

If you have a Windows PC simply click on the little “Lock” symbol beside the URL in the address bar and drag it to an empty place on the Desktop. The shortcut will be created as soon as you release the mouse button.

If you’re using Safari on a Mac, highlight the URL in the address bar and drag the highlighted URL to the Desktop.

That’s all there is to it. From now on when you wish to visit that web page just click the shortcut to immediately open it in your default browser.
