Posted on July 8, 2014

internetI was looking through the referral logs for this blog a couple of hours ago and noticed something very interesting. Internet Explorer is no longer the web browser that most people use when they visit RicksDailyTips.com.

The last time I checked my logs (which was the 2nd week of May) I.E. was still well on top with 61% of the visits. Chrome was second with 19% with various other browsers rounding out the remaining 20%.

Q&A: How can I transfer my bookmarks and stored passwords from Firefox to Chrome

Posted on June 25, 2014

chrome-browser-logoQuestion from Jules P:  Hi Rick. I stopped using Internet Explorer and switched to Firefox a couple of years ago because IE was crashing all the time. I like Firefox, but after trying Google Chrome I noticed that it loads the pages I visit a lot faster than Firefox.

How do I do it? By using a fantastic Chrome extension called CoolPreviews.  [Read more…]

Posted on May 5, 2013

Question from Kenneth O.:  I started using Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer a while back, and I really like it.

But starting last night I can’t get to certain websites in Chrome even though I can get to them just fine in other web browsers.

As far as I know I haven’t changed any settings or anything. What could be the problem?

Rick’s answer:  There are a number of possible causes for this problem Kenneth, but the two most common (and most likely) are having your browser set to use a proxy server or corrupted cookies on your hard drive. The following steps will eliminate both possibilities:  [Read more…]
