Adobe Flash was one of the world’s most widely used computer and web-based tools for decades.

In fact, if you had a Windows PC or a Mac you probably used Flash in one way or another every time you turned your computer on.

But there was a big problem with using Flash: The Flash platform itself was extremely insecure, and that made it a favorite tool of hackers as well as legitimate programmers.

Scam alert: Be wary of duplicate friend requests on Facebook

Facebook is a wonderful venue for sharing information, photos and fun with friends, but unfortunately it is also a haven for scammers.

Every post you see and every message you receive must be viewed with a skeptical eye if you want to avoid falling victim to those who are out to cause you grief or separate you from your money.

Now there is a type of scam making the rounds that is even more insidious than most. Scammers are making virtual copies of real Facebook accounts by copying the photos and info from the real account’s “About” page to the fake ones. They then send friend requests to the friends listed on the real account.

Scam alert: Beware the dangerous ‘Fake Norton Invoice’ scam

Several people have forwarded what appear to be email invoices for Norton products and services they supposedly ordered, but didn’t.

As you can probably guess, each and every one of those emails have turned out to be scams.
