How to close all active apps on your Android phone at once

android-phoneSmart phone users love their apps, and many of us have several apps running in the background at any given time. Occasionally a glitch with one of those active apps will cause the phone to freeze up and the only way to unfreeze it is to close the problem app.

Dell to release $99 PC that you can carry in your pocket

dell-opheliaHow would you like to pay just $99 for a very capable Dell PC that you can carry around in your pocket? Well, starting sometime around June 2013 you’ll be able to.

Although it hasn’t been given an official name yet, Dell is developing the device under the code name “Project Ophelia”.

It’ll look very similar to an over-sized USB thumb drive, run Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system and plug directly into a monitor or TV (from which it will draw its power). A keyboard and mouse will connect via either USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth, your choice. [Read more…]

Some devices are able to connect directly to a printer via a USB cable using software that came pre-installed on the device. Check your device’s user manual to see if yours is one of them. How to create a Wi-Fi hotspot with your Android phone

tethering-screenshotWouldn’t it be nice to be able to use your laptop, tablet or other Wi-Fi enabled device at any place where there is a decent 3G or 4G signal available?

Well, if you have a smart phone running Android 2.2 or later you have everything you need to create a Wi-Fi hotspot that can provide Internet service for up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices!

The Android feature for creating a hotspot is called Tethering, and here are the steps for turning it on in your phone:

1 – From your Android phone’s Home screen, tap the Menu button or screen location to go to the Settings screen.
