Adobe Flash was one of the world’s most widely used computer and web-based tools for decades.

In fact, if you had a Windows PC or a Mac you probably used Flash in one way or another every time you turned your computer on.

But there was a big problem with using Flash: The Flash platform itself was extremely insecure, and that made it a favorite tool of hackers as well as legitimate programmers.

Heads-up: Adobe Flash will no longer be supported after December 31

Just a few years ago Adobe Flash was a major player in the Internet world.

In fact, according to some estimates it was used on almost a third of all the websites on the Internet at the time.

But over time it became clear that Adobe simply couldn’t keep Flash secure, and after several years of almost continuous security updates they decided to simply cut their losses and abandon Flash altogether at some point in the future.

Q&A: How do I disable Flash in the Edge browser?

edge-logoQuestion from Athenia L.:  I recently bought a new computer that came with Windows 10, and I really like it now that I’ve gotten used to it.

A friend at work said I should disable Flash in the Edge web browser. I told her I use Chrome instead of Edge, but she said I need to disable the Flash in Edge anyway just to be safe.

First, is she right about needing to disable Flash? And if she is, how do I disable it?

Adobe is now encouraging developers to stop creating content using Flash

Adobe has released yet another critical security update for Flash. Install it ASAP!

adobe-flash-player-logoIt seems like Adobe releases new critical security updates for their Flash Player software about about as often as the sun rises above the eastern horizon. And as luck would have it, they have just released another one.
