How to quickly match a phone number’s Area Code with its location
Like most people you probably receive lots of calls from unknown callers. Do you ever see one of those calls and wonder which geographic area that number’s area code is assigned to?
Well, there’s a very fast and easy way to find out…
Just type the area code (i.e. the first three digits of a ten digit phone number) into Google along with the words area code.
For example, if you’re curious about the location area code 401 is assigned to, just type the following into the Google search box:
401 area code
After you press the Return key you’ll discover that the 401 area code covers the entire state of Rhode Island.
On the other hand, if you look up the location of area code 212 you’ll see that it doesn’t even cover an entire city. It actually only covers the New York borough of Manhattan.
That’s all there is to it. Now you know how to quickly find out which geographic area a number’s area code is assigned to.
