Today’s Quick Tip….

Did you know many of today’s laptops don’t have removeable (i.e. replaceable) hard drives or SSDs?

Many of the newer models have the solid state flash storage chips soldered directly onto the machine’s mainboard.

And since these same laptops don’t have an open drive bay the machine can’t be upgraded by adding an internal hard drive or a second internal SSD.

In other words, the amount of internal storage the laptop comes from the factory with is the amount it’s going to have throughout its entire useful life.

This is something you really need to consider before making your next laptop purchase.

If you decide to buy a laptop that cannot accept an upgrade to its internal storage I strongly recommend that you consider buying one with the maximum amount of storage that’s available for that model.
