How to restore your Windows PC from a ‘System Image’ backup

Posted on April 1, 2021

Many of the tips I’ve written explain the importance of creating regular System Image backups in case your PC’s hard drive ever fails or some other catastrophe wipes out your Windows installation.

It really is important to always have a recent backup on hand for those unexpected emergency situations, but one of my blog’s faithful readers recently pointed out that I have never explained how to restore a PC from a System Image backup.

The purpose of this post is to correct that oversight.

Posted on March 25, 2021

Have you ever had a laptop stolen or suffered a hard drive crash?

If so, you already know that losing your precious photos, music, Word documents and other critical files is even worse than having to replace the hardware.

Q&A: Which VaultPress subscription do you recommend to backup my WordPress blog?

Posted on March 14, 2019

Question from James A.:  I read your post about why you use VaultPress to back up your blogs and I’d like to give it a try.

I usually publish from 3 to 5 new posts every day, and my posts tend to be pretty in-depth. That means recreating them if they were to get lost would be both difficult and time-consuming.

As I understand it if I choose the cheapest plan then my blog would only be backed up once each day. What concerns me is losing any posts that were published since the last backup was created.

My question is which of their three subscription options should I choose? I don’t want to over-pay but I definitely want to protect my hard work.

Are you frustrated by the lack of storage space on the typical external USB hard drive? Do you long for an external drive that’s super-fast, yet plugs into a standard USB 3.0 port?

Well look no further, because Seagate has both bases well-covered with their new Seagate Backup Plus 4TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive. (#ad)

Most consumer-grade USB hard drives currently max out at around 2TB, but this Seagate Backup Plus doubles that to a massive 4TB.
