Tips for choosing a great domain name for your blog

Posted on October 19, 2020

Are planning to create your own self-hosted blog?

If so, one of your most critical tasks will be choosing a great domain name that matches your blog’s niche, keywords and title.

Your blog’s URL needs to be short enough for readers to remember, yet long enough to provide at least a hint at what your blog’s posts will be about.

7 great uses for an old unused smartphone

Posted on October 19, 2020

If you’re like most folks these days, you probably buy a new phone at least every other year or so, and more often than not your old phone is still working just fine when you move on to the new one.

You could always sell your old phone or simply place it in a drawer and forget about it, but you also have the option of giving it a second life by installing an app that turns it into something that’s actually quite useful.

Q&A: How can I stop your email newsletters from going into my SPAM folder?

Posted on October 13, 2020

Question from Donna:  I signed up for your Tech Tips Newsletter a couple of weeks ago.

I love your emails but something happened and I stopped receiving them after a few days.

Last night I checked my SPAM folder (I use Yahoo Mail) and sure enough I found the missing emails in there.

Can you help me fix whatever the problem is so I can start receiving your newsletters in my Inbox again?

Thanks!!

I remember that I loved playing that game when I was a kid so I installed it on my son’s ASUS ROG gaming PC (with Windows 10).

The game played just like I remember and I didn’t notice any problems with anything else. Everything seemed to work fine so I shut the computer down.

My son used the computer for a few minutes and then shut it down when he got ready to leave for school.

This morning when he turned it on he noticed that the screen resolution was wrong and the screen was flickering really bad. He shut it down and restarted it and got the same result.

He asked me to help him get it straightened out, but so far I’m not having any luck.
