Question from Aaron L.:  A while back I replaced the hard drive in my HP laptop with an SSD, then installed Windows 7 from the DVD.

After I got all the Windows Updates installed I upgraded the system to Windows 10.

I bought one of the external USB drive enclosures for the old hard drive, then I plugged it into a USB port and copied all of my files onto another external drive.

The SSD is working great and so is the old hard drive (which is now being used as an external drive). The problem is the old drive still contains the original partitions for the operating system and the system recovery files.

Question from Stephanie:  I’m the office manager for a medium-sized wholesale floral distributor.

Including myself, we have nine people working in our office, and each of us have identical Dell Business desktop computers.

These computers came with Windows 7 Pro but I upgraded all of them to Windows 10 bit back when the upgrade was free.

My question is do I need to create a separate System Repair Disc for each of the nine computers or will the same one work for all of them?  [Read more…]

Question from Jackie:  I read that Windows 10 will let you log in with a numeric PIN instead of a password sort of like when you use an ATM card.

Can you tell me how to set up a pin on my computer?

Question from Martina:  I have an Internet question for you, Rick.

I keep hearing the terms “website” and “web page” and I find them a little confusing. Is there a difference between the two or do they both mean the same thing?

Rick’s answer:  Martina, the terms “website” and “web page” are closely related but they in fact refer to two very different things. Some people use them interchangeably, but they really shouldn’t.

Here’s the scoop…  [Read more…]
