Scam alert: Beware the dangerous ‘Cellular Carrier Loyalty Giveaway’ scam

Posted on November 12, 2023

As you probably know by now, the scammers of the world are always coming up with new ways to separate innocent people from their hard-earned money.

Q&A: How can I find out how much RAM Windows is using?

Posted on November 11, 2023

Question from Devon:  I have an HP gaming desktop computer with Windows 10 on it.

I recently started getting a “Your computer is low on memory” warning that pops up on a regular basis.

I always do a fresh restart on the PC when it pops up but the warning comes back after a couple of hours.

I only get this error if I’m running my Firefox browser, even if there are no other programs running.

How can I find out how much RAM Windows is actually using? [Read more…]

I know I can buy an external DVD drive, but I’d prefer to have it built-in.

Why on earth are they making laptops without optical drives? [Read more…]

In a nutshell, disabling File and Printer Sharing will prevent a hacker from being able to access the files on your PC if he/she somehow manages to connect to your local network.

Well, it occurred to me last night that I probably need to write another post explaining how to disable File and Printer Sharing in your particular version of Windows.

Well, here it is…  [Read more…]
