Today’s featured tech tip….

Why you (probably) don’t need a cellular-capable tablet

If you’re in the market for a new tablet you might be wondering if you should spring for a more expensive model that has a cellular modem built-in.

After all, it sure is handy to be able to pull out a device and instantly access the Internet from virtually any location.

Well here’s my humble opinion on this matter…

Unless you have some special need to use cellular data on your tablet you’d probably be better off getting a WiFi-only model and saving the $150-$200 price difference.

WiFi is seemingly ubiquitous these days and our smartphones can be configured as hotspots, making cellular-capable tablets non-essential luxuries for most of us.
