Today’s featured tech tip….

How to make more room on your browser’s crowded Bookmarks bar

Is the Bookmarks Bar in your favorite web browser so full that all of your bookmarks won’t fit onto it?

If so, there’s a very simple way to make more room for your visible bookmarks, potentially eliminating the overflow items completely.

Chances are at least some of your bookmarks have distinct, easily identifiable icons.

For example, the icons for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and lots of other sites have bookmark icons that are so recognizable that you probably don’t need the text in order to identify them.

If you have a ton of bookmarks you can remove the text from some of them and free up a lot of real estate on your Bookmarks Bar.

Here’s how to do it:

1 – Right-click on a bookmark with an easily identifiable icon and click Edit.

2 – Delete the text in the Name field and click Save.

3 – Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each of the other bookmarks that can easily be identified just by their icons.

That’s all there is to it. If you were able to “shorten” enough of your bookmarks you just might find that they all now fit on the visible part of the Bookmarks Bar.
