Today’s quick tech tip….

Those Microsoft ‘Unusual sign-in activity’ emails are fake

I’ve been receiving lots of questions about an email that appears to have been sent from Microsoft.

In a nutshell, the email claims that the recipient’s Microsoft account has been flagged for unusual sign-in activity.

At the bottom of the email is a ‘Report the user’ button and the body of the message states that a user from Moscow, Russia signed into your account.

If you receive one of these emails, simply ignore it and delete it. It’s a scam.

These emails are not being sent from Microsoft. That means if you respond to one of them in any way you’ll actually be engaging with a scammer/hacker.
