Today’s Quick Tip….

How to enable ‘Battery Saver’ mode on your Android phone

Yesterday’s newsletter featured a post explaining how to enable ‘Low Power Mode’ on an iPhone to make it’s battery last longer before needing to be recharged.

Several people responded to that post by asking if Android phones have a Low Power Mode as well. The answer is yes.

Google refers to this special mode as ‘Battery Saver’, and luckily it’s very easy to turn on. Just follow the steps below:

Note: The actual procedure for enabling Low Power Mode on your particular phone might vary a bit from the steps listed below, depending on which phone you have and which version of Android is running on it. Therefore, I recommend that you use this as a general guide.

1 – Tap the Settings icon (it looks like a ‘gear‘ or ‘cog‘).

2 – Tap Battery.

3 – Tap Battery Saver.

4 – Tap Turn on now.

5 – (Optional) – You also have option of choosing to have the Battery Saver feature turn on automatically once your phone’s battery charge drops to a level of your choosing.

If you’d like to take advantage of this option simple tap Set a schedule and select a threshold percentage. (I have my phone set to go into Battery Saver mode when the battery charge level drops to 20%.)

That’s all there is to it. Now you know how to enable ‘Battery Saver’ mode on your Android phone to make its battery charge last a bit longer.
