Today’s Quick Tip….

How to hide the Taskbar in Windows 11

If you recently updated your PC from Windows 1o to Windows 11 you’ve probably noticed that the new Taskbar is just a bit taller than it was in Windows 10.

That shouldn’t be an issue for most folks, but if your PC has a smaller than average screen the “real estate” being used by the Taskbar could come in handy if you could somehow free it up.

Well, you can. All you have to do is make one simple settings change and the Taskbar will completely disappear until the next time you need to use it.

Here’s how to set it up:

1 – Right-click on a blank area of the Taskbar, then click Taskbar settings.

2 – In the right-hand pane, scroll down and click Taskbar behaviors.

3 – Check the box beside Automatically hide the taskbar.

That’s all there is to it. Your Taskbar should now be hidden from view, freeing up the screen “real estate” that it was occupying for other uses.

For example, you could “drag” the bottom edge of your web browser to the very bottom of the screen, which would allow you to see a little more of each web page before having to scroll.

When you need to use the Taskbar simply move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and it’ll pop right up.

If you give this change a try and end up deciding that you don’t like it, simply repeat the steps listed above and uncheck the box you checked in step 3.
