Today’s quick tech tip….

Q&A: How do I make Windows 11 delete files without asking for confirmation?

Question from Barbara:  I have a Windows 11 all-in-one computer and every time I try to delete a file a message pops up asking if I really want to send the file to the Recycle Bin.

The answer is always yes because I wouldn’t have tried to delete it if I didn’t really want it gone.

How can I stop these messages from popping up? I want the file gone just as soon as I click “Delete”.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rick’s answer:  Barbara, this is a simple settings change that you can make right from the Recycle Bin icon. Just follow the steps below:

1 -Right-click on the Recycle Bin icon, then click Properties.

2 – Uncheck the box beside Display delete confirmation dialog.

That’s all there is to it. From now on when you tell Windows 11 to deep-six a file it’ll be deleted immediately without you having to confirm it.

Do you have trouble typing on the tiny virtual keyboards found on modern smartphones and tablets?

If so, you need a fantastic, but very affordable Bluetooth keyboard. There are plenty of more expensive models out there, but I really like this one.
