This latest Apple-related scam is a variation of this recurring scam in which the scammers call you from out of the blue and tell you your machine has been infected with a virus or is experiencing some other serious problem that needs to be taken care of right away.

Scam alert: Be careful about sending money to someone you met via the Internet
