Q&A: Can Windows 11’s roll-back period be extended past 10 days?

Posted on November 16, 2023

Question from Robbie:  A couple of days ago I updated my PC to Windows 11 expecting to have 30 days to change my mind like we had when Windows 10 came out.

But then I found out the window for rolling Windows 11 back to Windows 10 is only 10 days, not 30.

The problem I have is I’m going out of town on business tomorrow and I won’t be back until after the end of the month.

By the time I return the 10 day roll-back period will have expired and I’ll be stuck with Windows 11 even if I end up not liking it.

Is there any way to extend the Windows 11 roll-back period to longer than 10 days (to something like a month)? [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I remove Malwarebytes from my PC?

Posted on November 15, 2023

Question from Oliver: I’ve been using Malwarebytes for several years with good results but it recently started causing my computer (Lenovo laptop with Windows 10) to freeze up.

I know it’s Malwarebytes that’s causing the freeze-ups because when I use Autoruns to prevent it from loading automatically with Windows the problem goes away.

I did some research and found out that Malwarebytes apparently doesn’t play well with certain computers running Windows 10, so I’d like to just remove it from my hard drive.

The problem is when I try to uninstall it I get an error saying it wasn’t successfully uninstalled.

Can you tell me what I need to do in order to completely remove Malwarebytes from my PC?

Question from Brenda:  I recently bought my very first iPhone after using a flip phone for years, and I like it ok.

The thing is when I was looking at the demo phone in the store I could read the screen just fine.

But now when I look at mine I’m finding that I have to struggle to make out the text, and even some of the icons. I have more trouble with the text though.

I know my eyesight isn’t what it used to be, but I guess it’s not too bad for a 74 year old.

Anyway, is there a way to make everything on the screen appear larger?  [Read more…]

Question from Ellen:  Hi, Rick. Thank you for providing such good information. I have a question.

I use Safari as my browser and Google as my search engine on my iPhone.

My search history automatically shows up on our Windows PC on which we use Google chrome.
