Q&A: How do I report a stolen photo to Facebook?

Posted on December 2, 2021

Question from Angela: Hi, Rick. I hope you can help me.

Someone stole my daughter’s picture from my Facebook photos and they’re using it as their profile picture. She’s only 14 and I don’t like it at all.

Can you tell me how to report the stolen picture to Facebook?  [Read more…]

Q&A: How do I stop people from ‘Following’ me on Facebook?

Posted on November 19, 2021

Question from Horace:  I recently noticed that several people I don’t even know are “following” me on Facebook.

I’m guessing they don’t know me either and I don’t want them seeing the things I post on my page.

How can I get rid of my current followers and prevent more people from following me in the future?

Q&A: Why is my blog taking so much time to load?

Posted on November 16, 2021

Question from Carrie:  I have a WordPress blog that averages around 2200 visitors a day.

When I first started this blog the pages loaded very quickly, almost instantly. But now it takes them forever to load, often as long as a minute or more.

I’ve read everything I could find about how to make blog pages load faster and so far nothing has helped.

I’ve cut back on my images quite a bit and optimized the ones I’m still using. I cut the number of WordPress plugins I was using from 16 to 5.

I even ran a malware scan in my blog like you recommended in this post.

I’m at a loss as to what I’m doing wrong. Do you have any idea what could be making my blog load so slowly?  [Read more…]

Q&A: Are computers running Windows 11 SE available to the general public?

Posted on November 12, 2021

Question from Melanie:  I read an article about Windows 11 SE and they said it was meant to be Microsoft’s alternative to Chromebooks.

That sounds exactly like what I’m looking for because I don’t need anything more than a way to get on the Internet.

I checked on Amazon and a couple of other sites and I couldn’t find any computers that come with Windows 11 SE on them.

There are plenty of machines with Windows 11 on them but none with Windows 11 SE. Why not?  [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I connect an older desktop PC to our WiFi network?

Question from Brittney:  I hope you can help me Rick. I read your blog every day and I really trust your advice.

A couple of my friends and I just rented an apartment together, and so far it’s working out ok (fingers crossed on that lol).

We had Xfinity cable and Internet installed and they placed the modem/router combo box in the living room beside the TV.

Since I can’t run a cable from the living room to my bedroom, I need to connect my Dell desktop computer to the Internet over the WiFi network. How can I do that?  [Read more…]
