If you run a blog, chances are you’re concerned about it getting hacked and infected with malware. And in this day and age, that is a very valid concern.

Hackers and scammers are constantly probing blogs for security holes weaknesses they can exploit.

If they happen to find one they can quickly gain access to your blog’s server and install malware that will turn your blog into a vehicle for distributing all kinds of nefarious code to the devices your blog visitors use to access it.

By now you probably know how important it is to install new updates to your blog’s core files, themes and plugins in order to keep your blog secure and malware free.

But regardless of how diligent we might be at keeping our blogs up to date, malware can still sneak in occasionally.

Luckily, there’s a powerful free tool that makes it easy to scan your blog for known malware, and as a bonus it will also check to see if your blog has been blacklisted anywhere on the web.

This tool is from the well-respected security firm Sucuri, and it’s extremely easy to use. Here’s how:

1 – Click here to access Sucuri’s SiteCheck Tool.

2 – Enter your blog’s URL, then click the SCAN WEBSITE button.

Note: Since new malware is created all the time, Sururi cannot guarantee that the malware scan will be 100% accurate.

But that being said, running frequent scans with the SiteCheck tool is a great way to catch any issues with known malware variants before they have a chance to totally wreck your blog or its reputation.

Bonus tip: This post explains how to quickly enable Two-Factor Authentication on your WordPress blog to prevent hackers from logging into your blog’s admin area.
