Today’s featured tech tip….

This tip will make your phone’s battery last longer

Can you guess which part of your smartphone uses the most battery “juice”? Yep, it’s the CPU.

Now, can you guess which part is the next most power-hungry? It’s the screen.

I’m going to share a little secret with you: The brighter the screen, the more current it draws from the battery.

Therefore, you can make your phone’s battery charge last longer simply by dimming the screen.

Yeah, I know. I enjoy having a bright screen too. And truth be told, I keep my phone’s screen pretty bright most of the time.

But if you ever have reason to believe that your phone’s battery will die before you’ll have a chance to plug it into a charger, you can make the battery last a bit longer simply by dimming the screen.

This is very easy to do on both Androids and iPhones. Just open the Display settings in your phone’s “Settings” app and lower the Brightness setting to the point where you can just barely read it without having to squint.
