Today’s featured tech tip….

My favorite (and most useful) Mac keyboard shortcuts

By now you probably know I’m a huge fan of keyboard shortcuts because I share them on my blog and in this newsletter on a regular basis.

I’m often asked why I find them so appealing, and the answer is simple…

Keyboard shortcuts help me work faster. Quickly pressing a key or two lets me avoid having to make multiple clicks with the mouse, and that’s a huge time-saver.

A while back I shared some of my favorite Windows keyboard shortcuts so I felt it was only fair to do the same for my Mac friends. To that end, here are some of the most useful Mac keyboard shortcuts around (in my humble opinion):

  • Command+C: Copy the selected item to the Clipboard
  • Command+V: Paste the contents of the Clipboard into the current document/app
  • Command+Z: Undo the previous command (my absolute favorite)
  • Command+A: Select all items
  • Command+F: Search for an item in a document, web page or Finder window
  • Command+O: Open a document
  • Command+S: Save the document you’re working on
  • Command+P: Print the document you’re working on
  • Option+Command+Esc: Force quit a frozen app
  • Command+Space bar: Open the Spotlight search box

Of course these are just a few of my favorites. You’ll find a full list of all available Mac keyboard shortcuts right here.

I’m sure you have some favorites of your own. If so, I’d love to hear about them. Just hit reply on this email and tell me about them.
