How to always skip the Delete Confirmation dialog when deleting files
Do you find it tedious always having to confirm that you really want to delete a file from your Windows PC or Mac?
I receive questions from folks fairly often asking if there’s a way to disable the Delete Confirmation dialog completely so files will be deleted with one quick action.
And the answer is yes, there is.
Follow these steps to disable the Delete Confirmation dialog on a Windows machine:
1 – Right-click on the Recycle Bin and click Properties.
2 – Uncheck the box beside “Display delete confirmation dialog”.
3 – Click Apply, then click OK.
Follow these steps to disable the Trash Warning message on a Mac:
1 – Click Finder on the top Menu bar.
2 – Click Settings, then click Advanced.
3 – Deselect Show warning before emptying the Trash.
That’s all there is to it. From now on when you choose to delete a file from your computer you’ll no longer be prompted to confirm your choice. The file will simply be deleted immediately.
