Picture of the Day: “Springtime at Antietam”

Posted on June 19, 2026

Today’s POTD illustrates the present-day beauty of Antietam, a far sight from the way it looked on September 17, 1862 – the day on which almost 23,000 Civil War soldiers (both Union and Confederate) lost their lives there.

That was a sad day in our nation’s history, but Antietam is a beautiful and humbling (and of course historic) place to visit. I hope you like the photo.

Have lots of treasured photos of your own that you’d love to display in your home but you have limited wall space? A digital picture frame (#ad) is an excellent solution. Check them out!

As I’ve mentioned before, gift cards make great gifts because they make it easy to ensure that your gift of “cash” will be spent on something the recipient really wants.

That being said, there are times when we receive gift cards for establishments that we never visit.

After all, some folks tend to give gift cards only for the places they like to shop at themselves.  [Read more…]
