Today’s quick tech tip….

Find out how much RAM your computer can support

Are you curious as to how much physical RAM memory can be installed inside your computer? This might be a useful bit of info if you ever decide you’d like to add more RAM to the system.

Luckily, it’s pretty easy to find out. Just follow the steps below for your computer type.

If you have a Windows PC:

1 – Click the Start button and type cmd, then select Command Prompt from the list of search results.

2 – Copy and paste the following into the “Command Prompt” window, then press the Enter key:

wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices

3 – Divide that long number  on the left by 1048576 to get the max supported RAM in Gigabytes.

If you have a Mac:

1 – Click the Apple icon at the top of the screen and select About this Mac from the menu.

2 – Click the More info button and select the Memory tab. You should now see the max memory amount listed there.
