Today’s quick tech tip….

How to create a Windows 11 installation DVD or flash drive

Just like they do for Windows 10, Microsoft provides a handy tool for creating a Windows 11 installation medium.

At the current time you can choose to use either a blank writable DVD or a USB flash drive, whichever works best for your particular situation.

Note: My recommendation is to opt for a USB flash drive if possible because the installation procedure will complete a lot faster.

You just never know when you might need to need to reinstall Windows 11 onto your machine, and having a handy installation disc or flash drive on hand will ensure you’ll be able to do it as quickly as possible.

Microsoft’s Windows Media Creation Tool makes it easy to place the Windows 11 installation files on the medium of your choice.

Here’s how to create a Windows 11 installation medium of your own:

1 – Visit this page on the Microsoft website:

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

2 – Find the “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” section and click the + (plus sign) to read the instructions for creating and using the installation medium.

3 – Click the Download Now button at the bottom of that section, then run the downloaded installation file to install the tool on your PC.

4 – Once it has been installed, run the Media Creation Tool and follow the prompts as they appear.

That’s all there is to it. Now you’re prepared to reinstall Windows 11 from scratch using the installation medium you just created should the need ever arise.
