Today’s featured tech tip….

How (and when) to disable Power Saver mode on your PC

Is your Windows PC’s “power plan” set to Power Saver mode?

If so, you can give your machine some extra “get-up-and-go” by switching to the High Performance plan.

Power Saver mode can really come in handy if you’re using a laptop and you need to make each battery charge last as long as possible.

However, if you keep your laptop plugged into a wall outlet you can speed things up a bit by switching from Power Saver to High Performance.

And truth be told, if you have a desktop PC there’s really no need to use Power Saver mode at all unless you simply want your PC to use as little electricity as possible.

Sound good? Here’s how to give it a try:

1 – Click the Start button, then type the word power.

2 – Select Choose a power plan from the list of search results.

3 – If your current power plan is set to Power saver, select either Balanced or High performance.

4 – Close the Settings app.

That’s all there is to it. If you successfully made the change you should now notice at least a slight increase in system performance.
