Q&A: How do I bypass the 5000 friend limit on Facebook?

Posted on June 28, 2024

Question from Alex:  I’m a singer/musician who has a large semi-local following in my city and the surrounding areas.

I created a Facebook page and tried to use it to let my fans know about my upcoming gigs, but I recently found out that Facebook only shows my posts to a just a small percentage of my 8,000+ followers.

I’ve found that I do a lot better when I post the dates on my personal Facebook Timeline.

The problem is Facebook won’t allow me to have more than 5,000 friends and I have new people wanting to friend me all the time.

Can you tell me how to bypass the 5,000 friend limit on a personal account? [Read more…]

But when I’m at work I can’t get either Facebook or Pinterest to work in any web browser.  [Read more…]

Posted on June 17, 2024

If you’ve been using Facebook for more than five minutes you’re probably well aware that hackers and scammers love targeting Facebook users with all kinds of fraudulent activities.

I’m sure you’ve seen an occasional “Yikes – I’ve been hacked!” post pop up in your newsfeed. In fact, you probably see them on a regular basis.

The thing is, many of the folks who believe their Facebook account has been “hacked” weren’t really hacked at all. Their accounts have actually been “cloned” – and the difference is extremely important.

Q&A: Will Facebook let someone know I blocked them?

Posted on June 12, 2024

Question from Pam:  I have a question Rick. If I block a friend on Facebook, will Facebook tell her I blocked her? I hope the answer is no.

I know I could unfriend her but then my profile would pop up under “People you may know” on her page and that would tip her off that I had unfriended her.

Since I work with this person, I’d rather not upset her, but some of her posts are very crude and I don’t want them showing up on my page. Can you advise?  [Read more…]
