Question from Milo: I really like your site, Rick. It’s easy to tell that you put a lot of work into it.

I’ve been following you for several months now and I always learn something every time I visit your blog.

I hope you don’t mind but I finally have a question of my own that I need to ask you.

Question from Glenda:  I know this might be a dumb question but I’m really ignorant about things like this.

My son wants a gaming computer for his birthday but I want to get him a computer that he can use for schoolwork too.

My question is will a gaming PC do other things besides just play games? [Read more…]

My son has been playing around with Linux for a while and he really likes it. That’s why I’m trying to find a gaming PC with Linux on it.

My question is why aren’t there any gaming computers that run Linux? And if there are some, can you recommend one?  [Read more…]

Question from Adrien:  I have a three year old custom-built desktop computer that’s in need of some upgrades.

I plan to replace the motherboard in a year or so but right now I can only afford to add an SSD and (hopefully) max out the RAM.

I know which SSD I need to buy but I’m not sure how much RAM I can add.

Can you tell me how much RAM can be installed on a 3 year old Gigabyte motherboard?  [Read more…]
