Facebook is a wonderful venue for sharing information, photos and fun with friends, but unfortunately it is also a haven for scammers.
Every post you see and every message you receive must be viewed with a skeptical eye if you want to avoid falling victim to those who are out to cause you grief or separate you from your money.
Now there is a type of scam making the rounds that is even more insidious than most. Scammers are making virtual copies of real Facebook accounts by copying the photos and info from the real account’s “About” page to the fake ones. They then send friend requests to the friends listed on the real account.
Social media has proven itself useful in aiding students’ learning and development. Even so, not many schools and other educational institutions use platforms like Facebook for education.
The numbers are growing as the educational system is grasping technology, but we are still a long way from a study environment where social media is used as a learning tool. [Read more…]
Question from Mira: Hi Rick. You might think I’m not very bright after you hear my question, but I hope not lol.
Anyway, I recently sent Facebook friend requests to several people who are on our old high school reunion list.
One of the guys on that list accepted my friend request last night, but now I can’t find the notification where he accepted it and I can’t remember his name.
And before you ask, I’ve lost the list I got the names from in the first place!
