Well, this frequently recurring hoax is making the rounds on Facebook yet again.

Like most Facebook hoaxes, this one should be easy to recognize as such, but for whatever reason it’s being shared all over the place once again.

The actual wording of the hoax varies a bit, but it basically says Facebook is going to make all of your posts, comments, photos and messages public unless you copy and paste the fake scam warning to your Timeline.

Do this to prevent your Facebook account from getting cloned

Posted on November 1, 2023

Substack…

By now you probably know that Facebook accounts are getting cloned by scammers right and left these days.

Luckily, having a scammer clone your account isn’t as bad as having someone hack into it, but it’s still bad – especially for the people on your friends list.

In case you’re unfamiliar with account cloning, it’s where a scammer creates a completely new Facebook account in your name and populates it with photos and personal information they’ve copied from your real account.

Q&A: How do I pause a ‘Story’ on Facebook?

Posted on October 30, 2023

Is there any way to pause a Story to give me more time to see it and read whatever writing might be on it?  [Read more…]

Posted on October 16, 2023

Question from Liz:  I recently found out that everyone who looks at my Facebook can see my profile picture.

I don’t like that because I don’t want all the stalkers and scammers that are on Facebook to be able to see any of my pictures.

Lord only knows what they could do with it if they ever managed to steal one of them.

I finally got my settings changed to where it hides my posts and the rest of my pictures from strangers, but my profile picture is always visible even with its privacy set to “Only Me”.

How can I make it so that only the people who are actually friends with me on Facebook can see my profile picture?  [Read more…]
